01 — Visa-free entry

For many European travellers, visa-free entry is the easiest option for a short stay in Thailand. Currently, a visa-free stay of up to 60 days applies under the Royal Thai regulations.

02 — Tourist visa

A tourist visa suits anyone who wants to stay in Thailand longer than a short visa-free visit. It usually allows a stay of up to 60 days after entry, with the option of applying to the relevant authorities for an extension.

03 — Destination Thailand Visa (DTV)

The Destination Thailand Visa is particularly interesting for digital nomads, remote workers, freelancers and people taking courses in Thailand. Under the DTV, a stay of up to five years can be applied for, including the option of bringing close family members.

04 — Visa options from age 50

Thailand offers several visa categories for retired nationals aged 50 and over who wish to spend longer periods in the country:

Non-Immigrant O — for stays with a justified reason, typically used for stays of up to 90 days.

Non-Immigrant O-A — for eligible persons aged 50 and over who wish to stay in Thailand for up to one year.

Non-Immigrant O-X — the O-X visa may be an option for people who wish to stay longer and meet additional financial requirements.

05 — Thailand Privilege & Long-Term Resident Visa

If you are looking for particularly comfortable or long-term plannable solutions, the following options may be of interest:

Thailand Privilege — a paid membership programme with a long-term visa plus selected support services.

Long-Term Resident Visa (LTR) — aimed at wealthy international individuals, professionals and qualified remote workers.
